The Waggoners Trucking hauls in cards for the troops

Program to send holiday cards and calling cards abroad receives great response

The Waggoners Trucking placed a challenge before their drivers and support staff to send out as many cards as they could in just over two weeks through the company’s first annual “Send a Card, Fund a Card” program.  Members of The Waggoners Trucking came through contributing 1,850 holiday cards to the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes’ “Holiday Mail for Heroes” campaign.  By doing so, Waggoners raised enough money to purchase just over 200 calling cards to be sent to troops stationed abroad.

Waggoners’ “Send a Card, Fund a Card” program developed custom cards that the company’s employees and drivers could purchase for $1 a piece.  For each card sold and each dollar raised, The Waggoners Trucking matched the funds.  The combined funds were then used to purchase 300-minute calling cards that will be sent to members of the military deployed around the world.

Drivers and employees were able to buy up to 25 cards each from any of the Waggoners Trucking locations.  The program ran from November 20 through December 8.

The Waggoners Trucking is a specialized carrier in auto transport, LTL/Flatbed, and wind energy transportation.  The company was founded in 1951 and currently employs about 1,300 individuals including drivers and office staff with operations in the United States and Canada.  The home office is located in Billings, Mont. with additional corporate operations in Oklahoma City, Okla. and Irving, Texas.
