Con-way Freight Named Wal-Mart's 2007 LTL Carrier of the Year

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - April 21, 2008 - Con-way Freight, a less-than-truckload
(LTL) carrier and subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW), today announced
that it has been named by Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. as its 2007 LTL Carrier of
the Year. The world's largest retailer notified Con-way of the award
following an annual performance evaluation of its trucking and logistics
services providers.

Con-way was named Wal-Mart's top provider of LTL freight transportation
services based on an evaluation of key performance criteria including daily
on-time delivery performance, market coverage, transit times, claims
prevention, effective communication, and ease of doing business and customer
service.

senior vice president of transportation for Wal-Mart, in a commendation.

outstanding contributions of its transportation providers in categories

The company previously honored Con-way Freight as its 2005 LTL Carrier of
the Year and for its leadership in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
