Ruan Driver Receives Million Mile Safety Award
DES MOINES, Iowa (21 January, 2008) — Ruan Transport Corporation recently honored driver, Wayne Blubaugh, who received the Ruan Million Mile Safety Award. This remarkable achievement recognizes his two million miles and 22 years of accident-free driving for Ruan.
Tim Laffoon, Blubaugh’s terminal manager, selected him to receive this prestigious award. "I cannot say Enough good things about Wayne,” Laffoon stated. “He has been with Ruan since 1985. That alone says a lot about Wayne and his commitment to Ruan. He is always willing to go above and beyond to help with any problems our Customers have, and is always willing to help out a fellow driver to ensure they also get the job done in safe manner."
Throughout his 22 years at Ruan, Blubaugh’s dedication to his company has helped earn him numerous service and safety awards. He says he’s always been comfortable with this company. “I found a home at Ruan,” Blubaugh stated proudly.
Jim Mulvenna, Vice President of Safety and Administration, emphasized the prominence of Blubaugh ‘s accomplishment. “Drivers like Wayne are Ruan’s most valuable asset,” said Mulvenna. “His hard work and commitment to safety deserve to be recognized.”
Blubaugh was presented his award on January 19, where he received a personal plaque of recognition and a belt buckle honoring his accomplishment.
