Grants Will Help Accomplished Children of Employees Meet Educational Goals
SAN MATEO, Calif. - Dec. 10, 2007 - Con-way Inc. (NYSE: CNW) today announced
the kickoff of its annual scholarship program for children of company
employees. Now entering its 17th year, the Con-way Scholarship Program is

parent employed for at least three years by Con-way or its major operating
companies - Con-way Freight, Menlo Worldwide Logistics and CFI, a Con-way

Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 15, 2008, and students selected are
traditionally notified in April. Employees may obtain applications from

"Providing assistance to our employees' outstanding college-bound children
is one of the most rewarding initiatives we support," said Douglas W.
Stotlar, CEO of Con-way. "Helping the best and brightest young people in the
larger Con-way family fulfill their educational aspirations fits perfectly
with our core values of excellence and commitment."
Last year, the company awarded 45 new scholarships and renewed 99 more,

Since the inception of the program, Con-way has awarded more than $2.7
million in grants to nearly 900 students.
Scholarships may be renewed for up to three years or until the completion of
a bachelor's degree. The program is administered and winners are selected by
