Arrow Truck Sales Announces Back On The Road Team
Industry leaders join Arrow Truck Sales to help get one driver back behind the wheel
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Arrow Truck Sales is joining forces with Volvo Trucks North America, Heartland Express, the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA), National Truck Protection, Inc. (NTP), and ATBS for Back On The Road 2008, an initiative designed to benefit a deserving owner-operator in need of a truck and job.
After a nationwide search, Arrow and its industry associates will present the winner with a 2005 VNL 670, provided by Volvo Trucks North America, and a one-year work agreement compliments of Heartland Express. Volvo will outfit the truck with Volvo Link, its propriety two-way satellite communications system for reliable communication between terminals and drivers anywhere, any time.
To provide security for the winning owner-operator, OOIDA and NTP will provide the winner with insurance and a warranty, respectively.
In addition to these essentials, the winner will receive business services from ATBS, including consulting and financial tools to help get his or her business on track.
“We are proud to work with these leaders in our industry to bring Back On The Road to life,” said Carl Heikel, president and CEO of Arrow Truck Sales. “We appreciate their dedication to and support of this worthy cause. With the help of our team, we’ll be able to present our winner with all the supplies and tools he or she will need for a successful year back behind the wheel.”
Arrow will accept nominations for Back On The Road from Nov. 5, 2007 until Jan. 15, 2008 at www.backontheroad2008.com. A winner will be announced in March 2008 and will receive the truck during the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, Ky.
Arrow invites people from across the country to nominate friends, family members, associates and even themselves for this opportunity. Applications should include a compelling 250-word story explaining why this person deserves to win. Stories about family loss, loss from natural disaster or a recent return from military service will all be considered valid story submissions.
Following MATS, the winner will head out on the road. Along the way, he or she will provide a glimpse into life on the road through updates posted on the Back On The Road Web site.
