New, User-Friendly Website Will Focus on Recruiting Owner-Operators

Louisville, KY, August 15, 2007: Mercer Transportation Co. announced today the launch of newly renovated website at mercertown.com.  The website has been redesigned to focus on promoting Mercer’s business opportunities for owner-operators who offer flatbed, step deck and dry van services.

The website outlines the company’s provisions of contract and minimum requirements, as well as the available licensing options and contractor programs.  Visitors will have the capability to submit an online application or request additional information through the mail. In addition, the website has retained its role as an informative, user-friendly resource for existing Mercer contractors. Mercertown.com provides updates on nationwide fuel prices and road conditions, as well as a current listing of available freight. Other features include industry and company news, an event schedule and contractor profiles.

The new site takes advantage of changes in Internet technology, acknowledging the growing demographic of truck drivers with internet access.  The site has a clean graphical interface and is easy to navigate.  Mercer is hopeful that their emerging Internet presence will boost recruiting and retention efforts.
