Mike Davis started with Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging as an Owner/Operator in September of 1980 and has driven well over 5 million miles. Mike was presented the award for Driver of the Year at a banquet held in San Antonio, Texas on April 14th. Mr. Davis was previously awarded the 2001 Ohio Trucking Association Driver of the Year and most recently Joseph M. Kaplan Safe driver of the Year Award back in June of 2006 for his outstanding driver safety.
Davis takes a business like approach to trucking and finds his job very rewarding. He maintains his equipment in the utmost condition and makes his company’s bonus list every quarter while remaining in compliance with regulations. In addition to that, Mike has been a Trucker Buddy for two years. He plans on retiring with Ace Doran, and we are certainly proud of him and his exemplary work!
Mike has been married to his wonderful wife Shirley for 39 incredible years and has 2 daughters, Jamie and Jodi. He works all the time, but when he has the time he likes to watch NASCAR. His favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. Once a year he likes to take a long vacation, this year he’ll be going to California to visit the breathe taking sites in Lake Tahoe and San Francisco.

Ace Doran was also presented with the Fleet Safety Improvement Award and the Winner of the 2007 Transportation Group Safety Contest, 20 million to 50 million miles. We would not have accomplished this without our hardworking contractors! Thank you!
