BAY & BAY TRANSPORTATION AND LOGISTICS COMPANY HIRES
DEAN WEDUL AS NEW DIRECTOR OF SAFETY
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (Dec. 4, 2006) – “Foremost, I want to maintain the positive safety rating and history of clean audits that Bay and Bay has enjoyed,” announced Dean Wedul, new director of safety at Bay & Bay, a nation-wide transportation and logistics company. The Minneapolis-based Bay & Bay hired Wedul, 48, in late Sept. to replace Lowel Frame who had left the company.
Wedul has 25 years of industry experience as a previous OTR owner operator and in the areas of safety and compliance. Previously, he had been the director of safety at Admiral Merchants Motor Freight and Lessors, Inc., both in the Minneapolis area. He also maintains his CDL license. During his career, Wedul has seen changes in the area of safety.
“The biggest impact on safety is the individual driver. Throughout the industry, more and more attention is being put on driver qualifications, driver recruitment, and retaining and rewarding the best drivers.”
Wedul lives with his wife, Linda, and their two children in Farmington, Minn. He enjoys hiking and the outdoors.
Founded in 1989, Bay & Bay specializes in regional bulk hauling with pneumatic tanks, truckload and LTL (less-than truckloads) pad wrap movements, and other specialized transportation needs. The company currently employs 200 employees and 150 contract drivers. Its fleet, including company-owned and leased equipment, totals 310 tractors and 560 trailers. Bay & Bay is headquartered in Rosemount, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis.
