USA Truck Holds Surprise Event for Contest Winner

 

Van Buren, Ark. — October 12, 2006 — USA Truck, Inc. (Nasdaq: USAK), a truckload carrier based in Arkansas, announced the winner of the company’s driver referral contest Friday, October 6, during a surprise event at USA Truck’s Van Buren headquarters.

Donald Green, a company driver from Springfield, Illinois, took the Grand Prize, which was his choice of $20,000 or a brand new Chevrolet Silverado. Donald, who has worked for USA Truck for the past three years, chose the $20,000 prize. Coworkers and other special guests were present at the awards ceremony.

 

USA Truck started the contest to encourage drivers to become familiar with the company’s driver referral program. “USA Truck has some of the best drivers in the industry. Encouraging them to recruit their family and friends makes perfect sense,” said Mike Weindel, Vice President, Human Resources, Recruiting and Training. “The contest really helped increase participation in our driver referral program,” he said. “There was a great response.”
