Recently we received a call to move a piece of Cincinnati history. We have moved National monuments before but the Tyler Davidson Fountain is a special monument to the people of Cincinnati . In 1871 Henry Probasco presented the fountain to the City of Cincinnati in honor of his late partner Tyler Davidson. The fountain was made in Bavaria and shipped to Cincinnati where it was placed in the middle of Fifth Street and it remained in that spot for 100 years. In 1971 the fountain was moved to the new Fountain Square and it was reconditioned at the same time. The fountain was cleaned and moved in 2000 and again in 2006 as Fountain Square undergoes reconstruction. The fountain is now back in its place of honor on Fountain Square and we are proud to have been a part of that process.
