Marten Transport Honors Drivers for Millions of Miles of Safe Driving
EAU CLAIRE , Wis. – Marten Transport, Ltd. hosted an awards banquet to honor 33 new inductees into its prestigious Million Mile Clubs on Saturday, May 6. A total of 27 drivers were inducted into the One Million Mile Club drivers and six drivers were added to the Two Million Mile Club. The event took place at the Holiday Inn Campus Area in Eau Claire . More than 175 people attended the awards banquet, which included a meet and greet hour, an awards ceremony and a hors d’eouvres buffet. Attendees consisted of Club inductees, their family members and friends, Marten employees, and special guests from the transportation industry, government officials and media outlets.
To become a life-long member of this distinguished group, (there are now 281 members) a driver must have successfully piloted Marten tractors or trailers 1-or 2-million miles without a preventable accident. One million miles is the equivalent of 4.5 trips to the moon or 40 trips around the world. It takes approximately eight years for a driver to achieve this goal.
