$10,000 in DOT Inspection Contest

 

A Clean DOT Inspection equaled a big payday for Maverick driver Tommy Jacobs of Hazel Green, AL. Jacobs was the winner of Maverick’s recent Inspection Perfection contest, held throughout 2005.

The contest, aimed at increasing safety and DOT compliance, gave every driver that received a clean DOT inspection throughout the year a chance at the $10,000 grand prize drawing.

“People were surprised that we would give $10,000 away, but that is how serious we are about safety and compliance at Maverick,” said Vice President of Safety Dean Newell. “It is always great to be able to give drivers some incentive and reward for doing things the right way.”

As for Jacobs, he was naturally stunned. “My first thought was that this couldn’t be real and it’s still hard to believe!” Jacobs, who has been with Maverick for over 2 years, says that he enjoys working at Maverick for many reasons, especially citing the great people and the weekend home time.
