Meet Elliott Sadler and the M&M’s Race Team!

Racing is a family tradition that was started in the Sadler family nearly 45 years ago. Bud Elliott and Herman Sadler, along with their brothers, raced on the short tracks of Virginia long before Elliott Sad-ler was born. Growing up as a Sadler, young Elliott made his way from track to track with his dad and uncles to watch them compete in the weekly racing series. It seemed only natural that Sadler would carry on the tradition started by his family half a century ago.

Just as his father and uncle before him, Sadler received his racing training on the short tracks in his home state of Virginia. Climbing behind the wheel of his first go-kart at age seven, Sadler captured over 200 victories before moving into the Late-Model Stock car division and adding several championships to his resume.

Sadler joined the rarified NASCAR ranks at the age of 21 and found success in the Busch Series before elevating to stock car’s premiere division, the Nextel Cup Series, in 1999. Driving for the leg-endary Wood Brothers racing organization, Sadler captured his first Cup Series victory at Bristol Motor Speedway in March 2001.

After four seasons, Sadler and the Wood Brothers parted ways as Sadler landed the opportunity to drive for Robert Yates Racing and sponsor M&M’S® Brand Chocolate Candies. In 2004, Sadler experienced a breakout season. He opened the year strong by taking the checkered flag in the Gatorade Twin 125s at Daytona In-ternational Speedway, mark-ing M&M’S first ever trip to victory lane. Sadler’s success continued with victories at Texas Motor Speedway and California Speedway. The No. 38 team, led by championship crew chief Todd Parrott, remained in the top-10 in point standings for the entire race season and clinched a coveted spot in the inaugural NASCAR Nextel Cup Chase for the
Championship.

Entering his seventh season in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, Sadler looks to return to victory lane. Off the track, Sadler is an avid golfer, hunting guide and video gamer. Family comes first with Sadler who also enjoys music and raising his 38 Pedigree® Brand Dog Food-fed Tennessee walker hounds and beagles.
