Marten recognizes Drivers of the Month
Marten Transport recently recognized 34 Drivers of the Month for March. Qualifying drivers must meet a minimum of 10,500 miles for that month, with no accidents and 100 percent on-time deliveries. This month’s drivers averaged 13,616 miles for the month.

Maverick salutes Drivers of the Month
Maverick Transportation named the following first-quarter recipients of Driver of the Month: January—Elliott Blansett; February —Aaron Toney; March—Chuck Helms. Each driver is a leader in the company’s fleet, and all have received numerous safety awards from the carrier.

Decker Truck Line boosts pay
Decker Truck Line announced a comprehensive wage increase for company drivers. Refrigerated and van division drivers will receive across-the-board increases to their mileage rates effective May 1 and Sept 1. Decker also added pay increase levels to the seniority pay schedule. In addition, Decker is offering a limited time sign-on bonus of up to $4,000 for experienced reefer/van drivers.

Arnold presents Service Ace Awards
Arnold Transportation Services presented its Arnold Service Ace Awards to recognize drivers who provided 100 percent on-time service to customers. A total of 165 drivers were awarded one-year ACE Awards, 60 drivers were awarded two-year awards and 55 were awarded three-year awards.

NCI driver logs 5 million miles
Frank Kimsey of National Carriers, Inc. has logged an astounding 5 million safe miles of driving in his career. Kimsey has been with NCI since he began working for the company in 1972. In his 33 years with NCI, Kimsey has received numerous awards, including being named NCI’s 1999 Driver of the Year.

Buchanan Gives Away New Harley
Buchanan Hauling & Rigging, Inc., gave away a 2006 Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle this past March at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, KY. Buchanan gives away one new Harley for every 50 new owner-operators who lease on with the company. Peter Vordanov of Chicago, IL, who leased on in Sept., 2005, was the proud winner.

CRST Van Expedited employee Jennifer Cooper is not only a proud company driver, she is also currently serving in the U.S. Army Reserves. After serving in Iraq for 14 months, Cooper returned home feeling “not quite ready to pick up where I had left off.” It was then that Cooper decided to pursue a career as a truck driver. She’s been with CRST since 2005.
Bay & Bay names new CFO
Bay & Bay promoted Scott Stelman to chief financial officer. He had been Bay & Bay’s controller since joining the company in 1999. During that time, he’s played a major role in growing the Minneapolis-based company from $8 million in revenues in 1999 to a projected $65 million in revenues in 2006.
