Paschall announces award winners
Paschall Truck Lines named William O’Connor as its Company Driver of the Month and William Harmon as its Owner-Operator of the Month for December. O’Connor has 12 years of driving experience, eight at PTL. Harmon has been driving 10 years and has been partnered with PTL for five.

Marten Transport earns kudos
Marten Transport was recognized by Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton as a leading developer of practices to successfully recruit and retain women employees. D. M. Bowman inducts three into HOF
D. M. Bowman inducted three professional drivers—Robert Hess, Gary Sunday and John Lowery—into the company’s Hall of Fame. All three have driven more than one million consecutive safe miles with the company.

CFI honors January Drivers of the Month
CFI recognized the following driver-of-the-month award recipients for January: Company Driver—Timothy Turner; Company Team—Carl and Rebecca Holt; Contractor Driver—Russell George; Contractor Team—Robert Cuthbertson and Sheri McPhee. As the January 2006 winners, each driver and team is automatically nominated for the 2006 year-end award in their respective category.

Smithway salutes Driver of the Month
Terry Lehman was named December Driver of the Month by Smithway Motor Xpress for his excellent service. Lehman has been with Smithway since September of 1999. With 29 years of driving experience to his credit, Lehman has carried some challenging loads. See their ad on page 15!
Maverick names Driver of the Year
Maverick Transportation named Tom Douglas of New Philadelphia, PA as its 2005 Driver of the Year. “I’m proud to be a Maverick driver, and the honor of being named Driver of the Year means so much to me,” Douglas said. In his 12-plus years with Maverick, Douglas has received numerous safety awards, including a Million Mile Safe Driving Award.

Atlas steps up for National Guard
When Mike Townsend asked his employer, Atlas Van Lines, to help replace a critical piece of computer equipment for his National Guard unit serving in Iraq, the Evansville-based company sprang into action. Atlas’ information technology department refurbished an extra server and shipped it to Iraq, free of charge, so the Indiana National Guard’s 1st Battalion of the 163rd Field Artillery could use it as an e-mail and Web server.
Bolt Express names Driver of the Month
Martin Kantner was named the February Driver of the Month at Bolt Express. Kantner, who joined Bolt last year, says he enjoys doing work that matters. “Every load is important,” he said. “But I really feel good about delivering something that I know makes a difference to someone.”
