TMC inducts million-milers

Schneider offers new lease program
The new Owner-Operator Success Lease Pro-gram from Schneider National, offered by Schneider Finance, Inc., states that all new units leased or sold by Schneider Finance will include Thermo King TriPac heating and cooling units in aerodynamic Freightliner Century, Kenworth T2000, Volvo 780 and Peterbilt 386 and 387 tractors. The TriPac unit will nearly eliminate the need for idling, delivering even greater fuel savings while keeping the cab comfortable year round.

CFI driver achieves three million miles
CFI announced the fourth driver in CFI history to reach three million miles. Ned Darrow, who started driving for CFI in 1979, began driving professionally because he was tired of farming. In other news, CFI honored the following monthly driver award recipients for November 2005: Company Driver of the Month—George Cook; Company Team of the Month—Gary Sarinana and Ana Ochoa; Contractor Driver of the Month—Esteban Campos; Contractor Team of the Month— Lisa and Charles Ball Jr.

Maverick names Driver of the Year
Maverick Transportation named Tom Doug-las of New Philadelphia, OH as its 2005 Driver of the Year. Honored as Maverick’s March Driver of the Month for 2005, Douglas has proven himself as a leader in the company’s fleet, combining safe driving, a positive attitude and genuine driver professionalism. As Driver of the Year, Douglas will receive an extra week of vacation time, a $2,500 bonus check and a custom-made leather jacket.

FFE lease-purchase program
The lease-purchase program at FFE offers drivers the opportunity to own a truck without a lot of money down and the added benefit of a business support system. Credit isn’t an issue as long as drivers have a clean DAC and MVR. Drivers can start off right with a $2,000 sign-on bonus, a $2,600 referral bonus plan and a full tank of fuel on first dispatch.

Highway Watch looks for person of interest
The Highway Watch program’s Highway ISAC has issued a formal “be on the lookout” (BOLO) requesting assistance from members of the trucking and law enforcement community to assist in identifying a person of interest with connection to several reported incidents in the southeastern United States. In three separate incidents truck drivers reported an individual asking several questions about tank truck deliveries and operations. The individual in question is also reported to have videotaped tank truck operations and deliveries as well as taken photographs of tanker equipment.
