‘A good thing’ at Millis Transfer
Steve Donaldson joined Millis Transfer nearly three years ago when the company’s new tractor-trailers caught his eye. He investigated further and found that Millis was offering everything he was looking for in terms of miles, money and benefits. “It just keeps getting better at Millis,” he says. What makes Millis stand out? Donaldson mentions the company’s top-of-the-line equipment and “great” home time, plus he gets all the miles he needs. In other news, Millis unveiled a new trainee pay package that begins at $500 for the first two weeks and goes up to $700 for six weeks.

CFI to pay drivers based on practical miles
CFI will begin compensating drivers based on Rand McNally Practical Route Miles rather than the industry-standard Short Route Miles. Effective Dec. 1, CFI will pay both company drivers and owner-operators based on practical miles, an effort to more closely match paid miles with those miles that are actually driven. The change will be equivalent to a 3.5 percent pay increase for CFI’s drivers and is the third driver compensation increase CFI has announced this year.
