Professional truck drivers are among the most generous, kind-hearted people on earth. If you want proof, look at Brad Chapdelaine, a man with a heart of solid gold. A seven-year contractor with Dart Transit Company, Brad is a big booster for the “World’s Largest Convoy,” which raises money for the Special Olympics. In 2005 he is driving in his third convoy, and his enthusiasm is contagious. Many of his friends at Dart plan to participate, too. more
Driven Women
I was recently contacted by a national television producer of a morning show to profile a few women who have turned their lives around by pursuing a trucking career. Within four hours of sending out an APB to all of our advertisers for women truckers with a great story to tell, I received hundreds of phone calls and emails from carriers around the country. To me, the response from our advertisers was as rewarding as the call from the television producer.

Trucker Buddy
Teaching students to write letters competently is a requirement of most state education departments. In Tennessee, one class is learning this skill while they are corresponding with their Trucker Buddy driver, Michael Wiest. “In Mr. Wiest’s correspondence with our class, he asks questions that students look forward to answering,” says fifth-grade teacher Michele Emrick. more
