Valvoline Racing and Riggs partner with ‘Herbie: Fully Loaded’
The No. 10 Valvoline Chevrolet will feature a special paint scheme to promote Walt Disney Pictures’ “Herbie the Love Bug” and the movie, “Herbie: Fully Loaded” at the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Pepsi 400 to take place July 2 at Daytona International Speedway.
The special car, the Valvoline/“Herbie: Fully Loaded” Chevrolet will be part of the press event in Los Angeles June 3.
“I like the idea of racing with ‘Herbie’ at the Pepsi 400” said Riggs. “Herbie has a winning personality, and he canot be intimidated on or off the racetrack. I like to think this Valvoline team’s personality is just like that.”
In Disney’s “Herbie: Fully Loaded,” actress Lindsay Lohan stars as Maggie Peyton, the new owner of old No. 53. In this installment of the popular Disney film series, Herbie takes on NASCAR as the famous Volkswagen aims for the winner’s circle in stock car racing’s most challenging series. In September 2004, several scenes for “Herbie: Fully Loaded” were filmed at California Speedway during pace laps of the weekend’s NASCAR Busch and Nextel Cup Series races. The movie will speed its way into theaters nationwide on Wed-nesday, June 22, with Val-voline as one of the promotional partners.
In addition to being a Disney promotional partner with “Herbie: Fully Load- ed,” Valvoline is the official motor oil for the Pepsi 400 and at Daytona International Speedway.
The No. 10 Valvoline/ “Herbie: Fully Loaded” Chev-rolet also will appear this fall during the 500-mile NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway on Nov. 13.
Action Performance Companies, the leader in licensed motorsports merchandise, will create a die-cast replica version of the No. 10 “Herbie: Fully Loaded” themed race car. The collectible will be available through Action’s standard distribution channels.
