For some, the best job in the world

Let’s face it, not everyone is cut out to be an over-the-road driver. It’s a tough way to make a living, and it can be even tougher if you overlook the things that really matter, such as your family and your health. However, for those who have the drive to succeed on the road and the desire to take care of themselves as well as their business at home, driving over the road can be the greatest job in the world.
In a recent “Say What” column in our sister publication, Driver HEALTH, we asked a handful of over-the-road professionals what they liked the best – and the least – about their jobs. Not surprisingly, in terms of what they like best, they mentioned the “freedom” that came with the job, the chance to “be my own boss” and the fact that “no one is looking over my shoulder.” Many also mentioned the opportunity to travel around this beautiful country of ours and meet all kinds of different and interesting people along the way.
So what compels someone to get a CDL, climb into a big rig and hit the open road day after day? Obviously, money has a lot to do with it, along with “all of the above” reasons just listed. No matter what drives your career or where the road takes you from here, all of us at Over the Road, Driver HEALTH and RAMP Media Group wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving.
            Stay safe and stay healthy.
