Here’s to good, healthy trucking

The 2009 Mid-America Trucking Show is now in our rear view mirror, and, hopefully, so is most of the wintry weather that has hit us pretty hard this year! As spring comes upon us, and the weather turns brighter, the grind of our current economic crisis remains very real. The longer it continues, the bigger the strain it becomes for all of us and the harder it becomes to stay positive.
     I don’t have a magic wand that can wipe away the problems and challenges we are all facing. I am, however, continuing to search for positive news about the trucking industry and different ideas and programs that can either make your job a little easier, help you become a little (or perhaps a lot) healthier, and try to help you save money along the way.
     The latest program we’ve come across that covers all three of those departments is the Healthy Trucking Association of America (healthytruck.org). We’ve found that HTAA memberships not only provide its members with several helpful tools and resources concerning health and wellness, but it also offers major discounts in other areas such as sending flowers to loved ones. Because of this, Over the Road is a proud sponsor of HTAA and happy to provide information about the association to our loyal readers.
