“I do yard work. I play with the grandkids. I fish in my stocked pond. There are also a few lakes around my house where we go fishing. It’s relaxing.”

“We have antique cars that we restore. We have a 1940 Ford Deluxe, and we have a 1952 Ford pick-up. We have a big garage where we keep them. My husband and I do this together. We go to car shows and show them. It’s a lot of fun.”

“I’m a real couch potato. I just sit and watch television, which isn’t a good thing because I sit all the time when I drive.”
Donna Wing, 49, Independence, MO

“I’m out on the road three or four weeks at a time. Let me ask you a question: Do you have a hobby that you really enjoy doing? Well, driving a truck is my hobby. It’s not a job. It’s a hobby that I enjoy.”
Scott Thomas, 45, Hanna, IN
Professional experience: 22 years
“It’s not really a hobby, it’s more of a business, but I’ve run pony rides most of my life. That’s why I need to get home on weekends. We’ve got 28 head right now. We do all the carnivals in northern Indiana, the Chicago area, southern Michigan. It’s a very good income. My real hobby, though, is riding horses, but I don’t have a lot of time for that.” |
