You’re in the winner’s circle with Baylor Trucking

Strength. Safety. Success. Linked together, these three qualities form the Baylor Circle, a standard of excellence that drives Baylor Trucking. By definition, a circle consists of points equidistant from the center, and Baylor Trucking places equal importance upon every member of the company team, from President Bob Baylor to drivers and owner-operators, as well as the professionals in maintenance and operations.
“We treat every member of the Baylor family with the same high level of respect,” explains Beth Baylor, director of recruiting at the Milan, IN-based motor carrier. “We want to ensure that the needs of every individual here are taken care of.”
Bob and Beth understand the vital role that health plays in both job performance and quality of life, and they are continually developing creative approaches to encourage employees at Baylor to lead an active, healthy lifestyle. The recommendations focus on the following topics: Health Risk Assessments; Exercise and Fitness; Smoking Cessation and the Management of Blood Pressure, Nutrition, Weight and Stress. “When people learn to live a healthier lifestyle and implement those practices, they are happier and more fit, their weight gets under control, they feel better and they stay more alert,” says Beth. “Creating a healthier work environment and encouraging healthy lifestyles are our goals. We hope that they will be yours, too!”
Obviously, Baylor Trucking is not all about business and profit. In addition to caring about the health and welfare of employees and contractors, Bob and Beth are devoted to community, and they encourage company participation in a wide variety of charitable projects. These include Support the Troops fund-raising events, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists), Relay for Life (supporting the American Cancer Society), holiday donations and more.
“Our family is also proud to be teamed with the Petty family in supporting the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America and the Victory Junction Gang Camp,” says Beth. “We believe drivers and families finish first. Drivers are our focus.”
Now in its 13th year, the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America has included more than 5,350 riders who have logged more than 45,000 miles. Donations have topped $9 million to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, among other notable charities. The camp is dedicated to the care and support of children suffering from chronic medical conditions or illness by providing them with fun, medically sound camping experiences.
“The employees at Baylor are so important in helping us make our financial contributions,” explains Beth. “These events are wonderful opportunities for all of us at Baylor Trucking to do good work and have fun together, too, which makes our Baylor Circle even stronger. We’d like to continue increasing the size of our Circle, so we ask professional drivers to give us a call if Baylor sounds like a company they’d like to call home.”
The staff of Over the Road and Pro Trucker magazines would like to wish Bob, Beth and everyone at Baylor Trucking the very best. If you’d like to learn more about company driver and owner-operator opportunities available now at Baylor, give one of their recruiters a call at (800) 322-9567, ext. 570, visit their Web site at baylortrucking.com or see their ad on page 31 of this issue.
