Southern Refrigerated announces acquisition

Southern Refrigerated Transport has acquired 175 additional trucks. The transaction will begin immediately, bringing approximately 250 new jobs to SRT’s Texarkana, AR headquarters. SRT Founder and President Tony Smith said the transaction allows SRT to continue to grow and expand.

USA Truck driver delivers four million safe miles

Walter Spiesshoefer, a professional over-the-road driver for USA Truck, has driven four million miles (the equivalent of circling the Earth’s equator more than 160 times) without a preventable accident. Spiesshoefer, who makes his home in Alma, AR, has been employed by USA Truck since 1986.

Dart Transit honors Drivers of the Month

Dart Transit Company named Gene Knudson as its September 2006 Contractor of the Month at Dart’s Eagan Operating Center. The October 2006 Contractors of the Month are Larry Deviney at the Dallas Operating Center and Tim Regan at the Eagan Operating Center. All were recognized for their on-time performance, dependability and safety record. Knudson has contracted with Dart for more than 16 years, while Deviney has contracted with Dart for 20 years.

Warren names Driver of the Month

Warren Transport named Gustavo Cantu, an independent contractor with Warren, as its December Driver of the Month. Cantu has been with Warren Transport for seven years. “I really like the money and the hours,” Cantu says about his job. “I also enjoy meeting new people, going to different cities, and I like to see the different cultures.”

Bolt Express picks Drivers of the Month

Husband and wife owner-operator team Charles and Noreen Baldy have been named January Drivers of the Month at Bolt Express. Charles, who has been driving since June 1971, started with Bolt Express in July 2006. Noreen began her driving career with Bolt Express in October 2006. The couple has three kids and nine grandkids.
