Say What?

Question: What do you like to do when you’re not driving?

Mike Dotzert, 56, Beardstown, IL

Professional driving experience: 37 years

“What do I like to do when I’m not driving? When’s that? I spend time with my wife, my kids, my grandkids and go fishing. That’s about all the time I have.”

Dean Chipman, 50, Orleans, MI

Professional driving experience: 32 years

“We have a camper and a Jeep and we go four-wheeling out in the woods. We live in Michigan, about 50 miles from Grand Rapids. We go up to the U.P. (Upper Peninsula area of Michigan), and last week, we were down in South Carolina riding. We have a lot of fun.”

Matthew Booth, 37, Kirkwood, PA

Professional driving experience: 15 years

“We go boating. We got a 19-foot Sea Ray. We go down to the water and do a little bit of everything—fishing, tubing, you name it.”

Robert Miller, 56, Mount Pleasant, IA

Professional driving experience: 33 years

“Jump on my Harley and go riding. We go everywhere. I put 23,000 miles on it the last two years. We have a good time. I like to do a little fishing, too.”

John Miller, 29, Mount Pleasant, IA

Professional driving experience: six months

“I love to go fishing, boating, ride motorcycles. My dad and I go fishing in the Mississippi River. What do we fish for? Whatever will take the bait. We’re not particular. We don’t care. Carp, whatever, it doesn’t matter. We usually throw them back anyway.”
