CFI announced the following monthly driver award recipients for July: Company Driver—Howard Williams; Company Team—John Dotzler and Alicia Cardenas; Contractor Driver—Marvin Peck; Contractor Team— David and Shirley Schrader.

Driver makes her mark with FFE
Elaine Baldwin set out in trucking partly to show that she can do anything that men can do. Today she is a successful lease-operator with FFE. Baldwin says FEE’s program is simple and easy to follow, plus “it will tell you if you can cut the mustard or not” when it comes to running your own business.

Decker earns award from Hormel
Hormel Foods Corporation selected 51 of its suppliers to receive awards for providing quality service and/or products to the multinational marketer of meat and food products. Eleven transportation companies, including Decker Truck Line, were chosen for Spirit of Excellence awards. Decker has received the Spirit of Excellence award 10 times since 1995.

Highway Watch enrollment exceeds 400,000
In three short months, the Highway Watch program trained more than 100,000 transportation professionals nationwide, pushing overall enrollment to over 400,000. Formed by ATA in 1998, Highway Watch began as a safety awareness program for truck drivers, and since spring 2002 includes anti-terrorism training.
Atlas announces scholarship winners
Two children of Atlas Van Lines employees and the daughter of an Atlas van operator will have more manageable college tuition bills this semester, thanks to Atlas. Daniel Cox, Bethany Jacobs and Dawn Wink each received a $4,000 scholarship from the company. Eligible students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be entering into their junior or senior year in an accredited college or university.
Warren names Driver of the Month
Warren Transport named owner-operator Jose Camacho as its Driver of the Month for Au-gust. Camacho, who resides in Texas, has been with Warren since 1997.
Keller salutes its ex-military drivers
As we remember those serving in the armed forces, Keller Trucking, Inc. proudly recognizes its drivers who have spent time in the military prior to taking their careers on the road. The list includes Joe Schreiber, who served in the Army from 1983-86, and Shawn Pinkston, who also served in the Army for more than seven years doing demolition work.
