With the date for Apple’s latest iAnnouncement set for September 10, the iRumor mill is running at high speed. Details that were considered sketchy just a few weeks ago have evolved to well-sourced leaks and barely deniable facts.
iPads: Thinner & Sharper
Among the latest details? Bloomberg, by way of AppleInsider.com, is suggesting the full-size iPad’s diet has trimmed it down to be as thin as the iPad Mini. Meanwhile, the Mini will be getting the full-size tablet’s Retina hi-res display screen.
A Bargain Model iPhone?
On the phone front for the 9/10 event, and perhaps the worst-kept secret, is the impending debut of the iPhone 5S. Following just slightly better on the secret-keeping scale is what many are unofficially calling the iPhone 5C. The “C” model is said to be a less-expensive version of the top-shelf iPhone models, possibly in a wider choice of colors.
A less-expensive and/or color version of the iPhone isn’t so much of a stretch. That is the exact path Apple took with its iPod music players after getting to the fifth generation in that product line.
The BGR website has pretty solid support for an in-store date of September 20 for the new phones. Multiple retailers having blocked any vacation time for that weekend.
